let your backbone slide

First of all, I had a dream about snow. This is a tease because we are getting nothing but rain in real life. WHERE is my snow?? *sigh*

I also had a dream that I was shopping for a new pair of glasses and was in some optical shop run by this man and woman who were very nice. I eventually noticed that the woman was REALLY short (as in, like 3 feet tall, coz she had feet but no legs. it was friggin' bizarre). How I hadn't noticed this before is a bloody mystery to me, and I concluded she must have been on some kind of rolling stool or something before and I didn't notice. That, or I'm just not all that bright, which is also entirely possible. lol
Anyway, they finally agreed to let me pair for the glasses in smaller payments instead of one big lump of a payment.
WOW, that was an exciting dream, hunh??? lol

I also had a dream that I was with my grandma and were hanging out. There was a knock at the door and when I answered it, it was HER mother (my great grandmother). I was so surprised (mainly coz she's been DEAD for over ten years, but whatever, it's a dream. lol) and I gave her a big hug. She didn't seem to say much she just gave me a smile and her eyes kinda twinkled. I miss her, she was great (I used to call her Shorty coz she was shorter than me, which is hard to do seeing as I'm pretty short myself). Anyway, my grandma gave me a big long, wouldn't-let-go kinda hug and then said she was going (I guess with her mom).
That's all I remember. You best be sure I'll be calling my grandma to check up on her today.

fleeting flashes

Damnit, lately I can't remember much.....
I know I dreamt I was on an elevator that was falling and I was trying to time it so that I would jump when it hit the bottom (like that would actually save me. lol).
And I know I dreamt of three kittens that someone was advertising "free to a good home". Two long haired kittens, one grey and white, one black and white. And a short haired kitten, a calico. They were so darn cute I wanted to take 'em home with me.

Then I had a dream that I was attending some kind of crazy celebration in which the stars of NBC television (Friends, Will & Grace, Frasier, Third Watch, Law & Order, etc...) were in attendance. At the end of this dinner/awards type thing, all the stars walked in a line and weaved around the tables and past all their fans to say thanks and show appreciate for them. For some reason I distinctly recall seeing Courteny Cox, and she smiled and waved at me when she walked by.
Odd stuff.

the wacky world of dreaming

I had two very long running dreams last night. For that reason, I am quickly losing details because I simply can't remember all that much at once. Sort of like a glass can only hold so much without spilling over and losing some of the water.
Anyway! Moving along...

The first dream involved Darth Vader. Yes, this comes as no real surprise since I am a girl who is part of the generation that grew up with Star Wars. lol. In this dream it seemed that he was grooming me to take over the Empire, because I was his daughter. (!!) So there I was trying to wrap my head around the idea that I was his daughter, and trying to figure out just how I was going to get out of this situation. I didn't wanna run a whole evil empire!! I went snooping through the various rooms/offices of the Death Star to see what I could find (in other words, I have no idea what I was looking for). Oddly I found a whole stack of pay stubs for some of the 'employees' of the empire. (sh'yeah, RIGHT, I'm sure they just gave them weekly paycheques. LOL!!) I was excited by this for some reason as it apparently proved *something*, but I can't recall now what that was. All I know is that it was somehow incriminating. Oooo! lol

The rest I can't seem to recall, which thoroughly annoys me now. I know I had a heart to heart talk with Vader at one point, and I think he mighta taken his mask off. Maybe I'll remember more later in the day....

The next dream had me in Thailand. I was sitting along side a river lined with Buddhists in red robes and shaven heads (as monks tend to have there). They ranged from old to very young children, with the children at the front of the crowd, and closest to the river's edge. The children held chickens in their arms as we all waited for something that was supposed to come down the river. It seemed to be some kind of a celebration or festival. I was at the end of the river (this whole big river just emptied into a sewer grate for some inexplicable reason) waiting to take pictures of whatever it was that would come floating down. I was getting really annoyed with another tourist who was in my way, standing practically in the middle of the river trying to get the best shot.

Then poof! Next thing I know I am walking with a family up to their farm house in Idaho. (just for the record: never been to Thailand, never been to Idaho. LOL) I was complaining to this family (apparently my "host" family I would be staying with) about this annoying friggin' tourist who was getting in my way while I was trying to take pictures of a festival in Singapore. (much like in real life, it seems that in dreams I have a terrible memory. I couldn't even remember that I had been in Thailand, not Singapore. duhhhh!!)
As we walked up the steps to the farmhouse the family was pointing to various fields and telling me what they were growing in them with potatoes, of course, being among their crops. Just then I noticed a venus flytrap plant growing beside the concrete steps. I watched it for a while as it ate a spider and then a fly. Pretty cool stuff.

Once in the house I was shown around a bit. Eventually I realized I should have taken my shoes off; I had been tracking dirt all through their house (this is farmland afterall) and they had been far too polite as to say anything. I felt bad and apologized profusely.
The daughter then took me up to her room to show me her stuff and to hang out a bit. As she gave me the tour of her room she seemed particularly proud of her closets. She had them well organized with all her "stuff", ranging from makeup to accessories and jewelry....but no clothes. She had two such closets, and I remarked to her that it was extremely odd that she had closets but elected not to keep her clothes in them, which seemed like a logical choice. She didn't think it was so strange at all.

After that we hung out a bit, and eventually I woke up.
(why was I staying with a family in Idaho???? I have no idea. lol)
