swimming in the dark

I know, it looks like I've abandoned the blog, but as I have said before, such is not the case. As my sleeping habits have finally improved, my ability to recall dreams has decreased. A shame really, but I like sleep so I'm not going to complain.

I had a dream the other night in which I noticed my cats were walking in and out of my closet with great frequency and interest. Finally I slid the door open to look and see what had them so intrigued, and saw something moving in the corner. Upon closer inspection there seemed to be a small, very shallow puddle in the corner. And the puddle seemed alive as a school of fish splashed about, struggling due to the lack of water. Most of the fish were small, so that only their backs were exposed to the air, though they were still quite distressed since they could not swim well or far. But there was one larger fish who clearly was in danger of dying, as he gasped for air. Deciding that I could at least rescue the large one I grabbed it with my bare hands and took it to the bathroom. In my infinite dream wisdom I concluded that the best way to save this fish was to flush him down the toilet (??). And with that I plopped him into the water, and as I flushed the toilet I cried out "Be free, fishy! Free!!". Only problem was that he was too big to be flushed (or he refused to go down, hard to say which was the problem). Somewhat miffed I hit the handle again to try and flush him down, but he just refused to go.
I woke up.
